It may be an election year, but Jill Biden’s new children’s book, Don’t Forget, God Bless Our Troops, doesn’t carry a political message. Rather, it strives to offer support for military families, USA Today reports.
The wife of Vice President Joe Biden knows how hard it can be to have a family member who is active in the armed forces. Her son, Beau Biden, has served in Baghdad with the Delaware National Guard, according to the newspaper.
Jill Biden, an English professor, got a little help from Beau’s young daughter, Natalie, in writing the book about Beau’s deployment, USA Today adds.
“This is so kids don’t feel alone,” Jill Biden tells the newspaper. “They’ll see that other children are having the same exact feelings.”
