The Super Bowl is coming up in just a couple short weeks, meaning it’s time to start planning your Super Bowl party! Between making sure your place is ready to hold a family room full of people and prepping all of your appetizers, hosting a Super Bowl get-together can become super time consuming. To keep yourself stress-free, follow these tips to make planning your party a little simpler:
Create edible bowls
Scoop out the inside of a bell pepper, cabbage or tomato for an easy edible dip bowl that can be eaten after the dip is all gone! You’ll save time cleaning dishes, and they make a great presentation.
Take some shortcuts
Your Super Bowl guests will be there to watch football, so don’t be afraid to take some shortcuts in the kitchen to save yourself some hassle. Frozen appetizers such as oven baked fries or oven baked onion rings are easy to throw in the oven before the game and are healthier than actually deep frying your food.
Use one pot or pan
Choose recipes that don’t require lots of dishes or tools so you won’t have to deal with a sink full of dishes later on. One pot meals like chili are perfect for feeding hungry crowds, and it’s easy to condense multiple baked appetizers like stuffed mushrooms and fries onto the same baking sheet.
Prep the night before
Doing as much as you can the night before will save you stress the day of the game. Marinate chicken wings, chop up your onions and celery and prepare your dips in advance—then just keep them in the fridge until you need them.
Proactively prevent mess
There are a couple tricks to prevent messes in the kitchen that are valuable time-savers. For instance, coat measuring cups and knives with cooking spray to avoid sticky messes and place a wet paper towel underneath your cutting board to prevent it from sliding all over the counter.

Caramelized Onion and Roasted Red Pepper Ranch Dip
- 2 cups ranch dressing
- ½ cup caramelized onions. diced
- ¼ cup red peppers, diced
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 1 pinch cracked black pepper
Blend all ingredients. Chill and serve.
