Comment of the Week for 4/17/08

In this month's issue of MORE (and here on MORE.com), Beauty Director Lois Joy Johnson opens up about her scary -- and potentially scarring -- brush with skin cancer. This week's distinguished commenter shares the story of her own cancer battle, and what she learned:

"I thank and applaud you for the articles this month about skin cancer. I just finished four weeks of daily interferon alpha treatments for stage III melanoma. I threw a big 'Healing Energy Gathering/Love In/Celebration of Life' party the weekend before I started treatments, filled with an acoustic sing-along, prayer circle and taco bar! I've discovered that when you reach out for help, it makes other humans happy to be able to contribute something."
