Our Message Boards are a lively community serving a variety of interests. To gain the most from your participation, take a few minutes to review the information below.

How are the Message Boards organized?

The Message Boards are divided into Sections the My Life section, for example, is where you would post your ideas, your dreams, your goals and read what other women are saying.

Each individual discussion consists of a Subject message (the first message) and Reply messages. Reply messages are listed from oldest to newest, so it is easy to follow the conversation.

How do I read a message?

Each topic has its own list of Subjects. Click the title of any subject to read the Subject message and the Reply messages (if any).

How do I post a message?

To begin a new discussion, click "New" on the Subjects page for that Topic. You'll find this link just above the list of Subjects. You will see a simple form that you can use to enter a Subject title and the text of your message. Click the "Post" button to send your message to the Message Board.

To reply to a Subject message, open the Subject first and click the "Reply to this Subject" link just below the message itself. You will see a simple form that you can use to enter your message. For your convenience, the text of the original Subject message is at the bottom of the form. When you are done, click the "Post" button to send your message to the Message Board.

Must I be a Registered Member to use the Discussion Groups?

You do not need to be a Registered Member to read messages, view Member Bio's, or use the Report Violation feature. However, only Registered Members may post messages in the Message Board. The Registration requirement helps us keep the community of Message Boards clean and safe.

Will my e-mail address be made public?

No. We will never disclose your email address to other users. When you post a message, users may reply via email, but that email will be forwarded to the email address on file for you. Of course, if you reply to that email, your email address will become visible to the author of the originating email. A user may also send email to you through your profile, unless you opt to remove the "Send Email" link. Again, we do not disclose your email address; the email is simply forwarded to the email address we have on file for you.

Most pages in the Message Board include a Search box, where you can enter in your search keyword. Using the Search box on the Message Board page will search through posts made in the last 28 days. For older searches, use the Advanced Search link. Advanced Search allows you to search for posts to a particular user, from a particular user, for posts with keywords and those within a particular date range.

Can I reply privately to a message?

If the Reply via Email feature is enabled, you may click the Options button from within a message to reply to a user's post via email. Your reply will be forwarded to the author of that post. We do not disclose the author's email address; we simply forward the email to the email address on file for that user.

Can I edit a message after it has been posted?

Yes, you can edit your own messages at any time. Simply click the "Edit" button from within the post you wish to edit.

What does the "New" column mean on the Subjects pages?

If you see a yellow star in this field, it means that there are messages in that Subject that are new since your last visit.

What is this "poll" icon I see next to some discussions?

The forum editor has the ability to create a poll in which you and other users may participate. Once you have voted in the poll, you may reply to the discussion with any additional comments. You may also view the results of the poll at any time. Your vote is not disclosed to others.

Can I be notified if someone replies to my post?

Yes, you may opt to receive message notifications via email if another user replies to any post you've made. To do so, click on "Edit Your Bio." This will launch your profile, where you can then click "My Preferences." From this page, you can opt in to receive message notifications.

Can I subscribe to a discussion that I find interesting?

Yes. When reading a discussion, click the "Subscribe" button from within that post. On that page you'll be able to subscribe to that discussion so that you're notified if there are new, unread posts in that discussion. You can request that these notifications are sent to you daily, every 3 days, every week, these can be set in my preferences.

What is the "Options" menu?

This rollover menu contains the following items:

Report Violation - where you can report a problem post to the forum editor.
Email this Message - allows you to forward a post via email.
Print Message - puts the post on a friendly-printer page so you can print just that one message
Bookmark Page - adds the page as an entry on your browser's favorites link
Ignore this Author - gives you the ability to ignore posts by author.

You should also know that the editors and representatives of More.com reserve the right to remove any message at any time for any reason without notice or recourse. The most common reasons for deleting messages are:

  1. Commercial messages or advertisements.
  2. Abusive or inflammatory language.
  3. Messages that are blank or without meaningful content.

How can I report a violation of these policies?

If you see a message that you feel violates our policies, you can alert the editors by clicking the Options icon in the lower left of the post. This will display a rollover menu where you can choose "Report Violation." From this page, choose the reason for your report and optionally add any comments. This, along with the post in question, will be forwarded to the forum moderator.
