Keep yourself organized—and your shades safely displayed—with this sunglass holder project. It's an easy DIY that takes just a few supplies and little skill. Give it a try!
This wire sunglass holder could be made out of any width of wire and molded into different shapes. We used 1/4-inch-diameter wire.
- 1/2-inch wire
- Wire cutter or pliers
- Copper spray paint
- 1/8-inch-diameter nails
- Hot-glue gun and glue sticks if needed
- Level (if needed)
1. We cut our wire in a 12-inch circle. If you'd rather make a triangle, square, or even a pentagon, be sure to measure the wire before cutting. Grab your wire cutters and possibly a friend with large biceps, depending on how thick your wire is! Cut the wire and make the ends touch to form your circle—no glue should be needed. But if needed, secure the ends with hot glue.
2. Spray-paint your wire masterpiece the color you want and let it dry 20 minutes. We love copper, so we went with the metallic copper paint. When the paint is dry, flip the wire over, spray-paint the other side, and let it dry.
3. Now you're ready to hang your wire shape. Grab an 1/8-inch-diameter nail and hammer, and choose your spot on the wall. Make sure it's placed high enough above whatever furniture or organizational piece is below so that whatever you're organizing won't get in the way.
If you want to hang multiple holders, use a level when hanging them so they line up evenly on your wall. Now you can display your accessories as a reminder to wear them! Here's a Pin-able version with all the steps and a finished image.
