Pinterest tends to be the go-to for all-things wedding related anymore (or at least the starting place!). So when we got wind of the top trends brides and their beaus are loving at the moment, we couldn't help but be intrigued!
And while we adore seeing how people put personal touches and personalities into their wedding days, it's always way too much fun to discover what's trending on a bigger scale in the world of weddings from year-to-year.
If you're in the same boat, you're in luck. Check out some of Pinterest's biggest wedding trends for 2017!
1. Natural Hair
Instead of using every form of heat-styling device ever made to manipulate their locks, brides are opting to embrace the natural textures of their hair. And if you ask us, it's absolutely stunning.
2. Drip Cakes
Let's be real, naked cakes look cool and all, but we're definitely frosting-lovers here. Drip cakes are a gorgeous compromise of the traditional cake and the recent naked cake trend!
3. Brunch-Themed Menus
Daytime weddings and brunch-themed spreads are everywhere lately. Whether it's from the popularity of doughnuts, or just how freaking good french toast is, we're not sure. But we're also not complaining one bit.
4. Wedding Tattoos
Weddings mean commitment, so why not add another commitment on top of that? Brides and grooms are getting everything inked onto their bodies from wedding dates, wedding bands, and even beautiful floral odes.
5. The Official After-Party
Once the reception is over, and grandparents and the caterers have gone home, couples are encouraging guests to meet at a bar (where guests pay their own way!) and continue dancing the night away in a different venue.
6. Lip Masks
You can thank Emma Stone for this one after she posted a pic to Insta of her Golden Globes beauty prep. The collagen lip mask trend is huge for weddings to make sure your pucker is ready for that altar kiss!
7. Statement Earrings
Accessories are back in business this year, with the ever-growing popularity of statement earrings. A pinned-back hairdo with some gorgeous jewelry on your lobes is sure to be a show-stopper.
8. Off-The-Shoulder Wedding Dresses
If you haven't noticed, the off-the-shoulder trend is actually taking over the world. And TBH, with dresses this pretty, we don't mind one bit.
9. Printed (And Mismatched) Bridesmaid Dresses
Mismatching single-hued bridesmaid dresses were a big deal last year, but brides are starting to stray from the monotone colors and opt for a ready-to-wear print dress for her ladies instead. Floral looks are definitely in the lead this year, which makes it even more easily worn again!
A lot of couples just want to get away from all-things wedding by the time their day is over. Many newlyweds are postponing their honeymoons and opting for shorter, closer-to-home "mini moons" after the wedding.
