More: You are out with a new sex book called The Big Fun Sexy Sex Book
Lisa Rinna: Isn’t it fun?

More: What made you pen a book about sex?
LR: It wasn’t something I planned to do. It actually started in 2008 with my book Rinnavation, which was about reinventing yourself on every level. Anyway, I devoted a chapter to how I lost my sex drive after the birth of my first child and what I did to get it back. For some reason that chapter hit a chord with everybody, in my opinion helping to sell the book.

More: What did you say?
LR: I wrote about how I took pole dancing lessons, went to sex parties, did Dancing with the Stars and really broke out of the box. Fast-forward to when I met Ian Kerner, the famous sex therapist. We started talking when he asked me, “What if we wrote a he said, she said book?” I have been with my husband, Harry Hamlin, for 20 years, and I thought, what a great idea! Not only was this book so easy to write, but I realized sex really can be the glue that keeps a marriage together.

More: When you lost your sex drive, did it impact your marriage?
LR: Of course it did. I was 35 years old when I lost it. There was a huge impact, because when you are not having sex you are not having that intimate connection. All of sudden you start living as roommates who begin to devalue one another. Not only had I just had a baby, but we were drifting apart. Those two elements alone could easily have ended our marriage.

More: What did you do to save it?
LR: I had to be honest. I opened up to Harry, who responded by giving me so much support. From there, I went on a mission to find my sex drive again.

More: What’s that feeling like?
LR: I felt ashamed, and that there was something wrong with me.

More: How did you get through those dark days?
LR: I was completely hopeless. I had the worst postpartum depression and was at the lowest point you can possibly be. I suffered in silence for 15 months, and wouldn’t even tell Harry because I thought he would think I was a bad mother. By the time I had my second child, Harry looked at me and said, call a doctor. I was prescribed Serafin, which changed my chemical balance, reset my clock and saved my life.

More: And then?
LR: One morning when I was reading the paper, I saw an article about this woman named Sheila Kelly who not only worked with Harry on L.A. Law but now teaches a pole dancing class that gets people back in touch with their sexuality. I took the S Factor class and it changed my life.

More: How so?
LR: It is all about touching your body, moving your body in a sensual way and freeing your body. From there, I found a woman who comes to your house, where she conducts sex parties or seminars. I mean, she taught me how to give a great hand job, a great blow job and, basically, how to please a husband. I don’t know about you, but no one had ever taught me how to do it, so I really never felt confident in the bedroom.

More: How long did it take you to master all these techniques and feel confident?
LR: About a year and a half.

More: How did your marriage change then?
LR: It changed our marriage completely, and everything became so amazing. We had intimacy again, we connected again, and we went to that place where it is all about. It connects you where you can honestly say there is nothing better.

What’s your reaction?
