She admits to dropping 40 pounds of water weight right after giving birth to twins in April, and she cops to losing 30 more on the Jenny Craig plan, but Mariah Carey is not talking when it comes to the number on her scale.
As reported Wednesday, the 42-year-old mom is the new face of Jenny Craig, and she debuted her slimmed-down look earlier this week on Rosie O’Donnell’s The Rosie Show on OWN.
Carey seems open to sharing her pregnancy woes—she says she had painful edema that made her legs swell up like the “elephant man”—but her actual weight appears to be off limits. In fact, she told O’Donnell that once she reaches her goal weight—how she looked in her Touch My Body video—she’s gonna “throw out the scale.”
“The thing is, is that I never weighed myself. I did not weigh myself. People will think I’m a liar, but it’s true,” Carey told O’Donnell. “For me, this, like, is another cliché phrase, but I’m a big-boned girl, I’m a big girl, I’m tall . . . So I always weighed more, unless we’re going to talk 10th grade or ninth grade, that’s the last time I probably looked what I weighed . . . I would go by what it looked like, how I felt.”
Of course, we’re pretty sure fitting into that sexy, tight black minidress didn’t hurt her motivation, either. What do you think? Are you addicted to weighing yourself, or do you go by fit? Leave a comment below!
