Soon she was very willing to accept help and was very grateful that her mother-in-law came out for a couple of weeks, especially as it helped her teenage daughter too. “I do believe when you have cancer, it’s hard on children no matter what their age,” Joyce said.

Joyce is also a caregiver to her elderly parents, and was at the time of her cancer diagnosis, surgery and treatment. “I can never be afraid to ask for help because I have to help other people too,” she said.
