Ever wonder what, like, the most, you know, seriously annoying words are today? Wanna take a guess? Whatever.
A new Marist Poll of more than 1,000 American adults finds “whatever” is the most irksome word used in casual conversation, for the third year running, UPI reports, with 38 percent of those surveyed bothered by it.
Also high on the annoyance meter: “like” (20 percent), “you know” (19 percent), “just sayin’ ” (11 percent) and “seriously” (7 percent), according to the news service.
The problem is, if we cut this talk out of our regular chats, we’d be at, like, a total loss for words.
