Maximize Indoor Cycling Classes

If you’ve been Spinning in your sneakers, you haven’t been getting the most out of your workout. Specialized Spirita Touring Shoes ($90; specialized.com) can fix that. They’re designed to house SPD-style cleats—the kind that clip onto the pedals of most indoor cycling bikes—so you can push down and pull up on each pedal stroke, engaging more muscles in your legs. Off the bike, a rubber outsole ensures you won’t slip and slide across gym floors. And, best of all, once the warm weather returns, these are great for road bikes, too. One caveat, SPD-style cleats are cheap (about $20) but they’re sold separately. Check out these from Shimano.
