Joy Behar has been shocking—and delighting—people with her brash humor on The View for 12 years now (yes, the show’s been on that long). Her new after-dark gig is hosting HLN’s The Joy Behar Show, which premiered this fall. In the November 2009 issue of MORE, she shared some of her comic perspective:

I don’t regret . . .
. . . saying Sarah Palin should run for President.

I just want to keep her in the public eye, because she is a fabulous target for comedians. I can’t get enough of her. When she gives a speech, I’m riveted; my English teacher–syntax background kicks in.

. . . tackling two shows at the same time.
I love The View, and it’s the longest job I’ve ever had. But what appealed to me about doing my own show was the thought of not being interrupted.

. . . being on a program known for its catfights.
The View is also known for confronting politicians and for covering various topics. So the fights are scattered. But when women have catfights, nobody dies. When men have dogfights, they kill each other.
