Kim Cattrall Goes It Alone

Sex and the City is history. So is husband number three. Kim Cattrall talks about moving beyond Samantha — and into the middle of her brand-new bed.

When a reporter from Women’s Wear Daily asked the de rigueur question of the evening — "What’s your favorite accessory?" — Cattrall vamped. "A man. Preferably two." It’s as if she’s finally given herself permission to relax and have fun. At the dinner, she was seated next to former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan Helen Gurley Brown; the conversation turned to dancing, a pursuit Brown’s husband has never enjoyed. "I’ve always loved what [legendary French singer] Charles Aznavour does," replied Cattrall. Then she wrapped her arms around her own shoulders and mimicked dancing with herself. It’s an apt metaphor for her new life; Cattrall may welcome a partner to swing with, but she’s discovered that it’s also fine to dance alone.

What’s your reaction?
