A whole lot of people put themselves out there on dating websites in hopes of finding someone to—at least eventually—knock boots with. But for some, sex just isn’t an option. And let's face it: That'll complicate things.
It’s not something you often hear discussed openly during a coffee date at Starbucks, but medical conditions, injuries, pain or lack of pleasure keep millions of Americans from doing the deed—and now, there’s a dating site just for them.
“There's no longer a reason to remain on the sidelines, withdrawn from dating and the desire for companionship,” Laura Brashier, founder and CEO of the site, says in a press release.
After fighting stage four cervical cancer in 1999, Brashier beat the disease, but lost the ability to have intercourse.
“This is an enormous challenge when it comes to dating,” she says in the release. “I fear that once my partner knows my limitations, he will lose interest in pursuing anything more than just a friendship.”
The private, secure site allows only members to view profiles, and also offers up advice for achieving intimacy without having sex. Interested? The first 1,000 members will receive a free lifetime membership. Gotta love that.
