Pantone Names Fall's Top Colors

Orange, pink, blue-green and chartreuse among the season's popular hues

by Lesley Kennedy • MORE.com Reporter

You may just be getting used to adding a little Tangerine Tango, the juicy orange color Pantone picked as tops for 2012, to your wardrobe, but the fashion forward may want to start thinking of adding a little French Roast, Honey Gold or Pink Flambé to their color palettes for fall. Who’s craving Starbucks?

The color experts at Pantone have picked nine shades to join Tangerine Tango as autumn’s hottest hues: Bright Chartreuse (yellow-green), Pink Flambé (vibrant pink), Ultramarine Green (deep blue-green), Ethereal Rhapsody (grayed-down purple), Honey Gold (burnished yellow), Olympian Blue (patriotic blue), French Roast (dark alternative to black or charcoal), Titanium (cool gray) and Rose Smoke (veiled rose tone).

Look for the cool colors as you check out the New York Fashion Week collections going on now—bright oranges, pinks and yellow-greens? Sounds like clothes to fall for.
