There are certain phrases about women in the workplace that have taken on lives of their own, breaking down barriers and glass ceilings to haunt us on a daily basis. Sure we’re all guilty of using them, but we could stand to see some of these clichés uttered just a little bit less.

Running in Heels
When we hear the phrase 'running in high heels' we think of teen bride Courtney Stodden's morning jogs in stilettos, not the female executive running through international airport security image the phrase is meant to conjure up.
Plus, why is everyone running? High heels are already bad for your feet so running in them is just ridiculous. Carrie Bradshaw will not be able to walk by the time she turns 50.
Reclaim the term "alpha bitch" all you like, it still perpetuates awful stereotypes about women and is vastly overused.
Having it All
You can have a career! And babies! And hobbies! Didn't you know you can have it all? Except the good sense to stop using this empty idiom.
