Oprah

One of the country’s most seasoned dieters, Oprah gives high praise to the Quantum Wellness Cleanse, a 21-day program developed by best-selling author Kathy Freston. It eliminates caffeine, sugar, alcohol, gluten, and animal products and includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and soy products. After her 21-day experience, Oprah blogged: "This has been exactly what we intended: enlightening. I will forever be a more cautious and conscious eater."

Anne Hathaway

Before the Golden Globe Awards in 2009, Anne Hathaway relied on New York City-based trainer David Kirsch’s LemonAid Detox. The 48-hour juice fast helped her get lighter and leaner in a hurry. By the time of the red-carpet event, "her arms were so well-sculpted, she wore a sleeveless dress that night," Kirsch reports.

Robin Quivers

Robin Quivers, sidekick to radio shock jock Howard Stern, is reportedly a Master Cleanse devotee. She also does the Martha’s Vineyard Detox Diet, which promises to help you drop 21 pounds in 21 days by drinking vegetable and berry juices, herbal cleansing formulas and teas, and soups around the clock. Carol Alt

Former supermodel Carol Alt suffered chronic headaches, sinusitis, stomach problems and fatigue-until she started eating only raw foods. What began as an attempt to detoxify her body and feel better turned into a way of life. "In addition to transforming my health and having a positive effect on my appearance, eating raw has made me feel amazing," Alt writes in her book Eating In the Raw. Now, "I never diet . . . I can eat all that I want, and I do-just raw."

Beyonce

To drop 20 pounds for her role in Dreamgirls, Beyonce went on Master Cleanse-which consists of mixes of hot water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper throughout the day-and nothing much more. In 2006, she reported on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she was so hungry on the cleanse that it made her "evil."
