Our most recent excuse to shop? Famed jewelry designer Judith Ripka’s latest creation for Autism Speaks. The group’s iconic puzzle-piece symbol was made over by Ripka’s keen eye for design; it’s done in sterling silver with a small inset blue sapphire, then hung on a silk cord. Ripka isn’t new to the cause: She created a similarly styled bracelet in 2007 after she was moved by founder Suzanne Wright’s devotion to autism research. The new necklace is available at autismspeaks.org for $229, with all profits benefiting Autism Speaks. Buying jewelry for yourself can feel a little indulgent, but giving back always feels good.
