My teammates on the Asphalt Green Cycling Team make me smile. Even when everything is going wrong, they find a way to make training and racing fun . . . like rolling up to the Tour de Ephrata “Pain Mountain” Time Trial incognito. The pictures from that weekend make me laugh so hard I cry.
Bridget Jones. The movie's script . . . “ I don’t want you to see wobbley bits.” All the scenes make me laugh.

My cat, Margaret, cracks me up when she poses like a queen atop her scratching post and glares at me because I happened to look in her direction. She is so high and mighty, but with her ears askew and her eyes slightly crossed with irritation she looks supremely dotty.
Instead of watching morning news, I recently started watching comedy specials. I find that the laughter makes me think more creatively. To that end, I love, love, love Kathy Griffin. She just pushes and pushes the envelope and, in a recent episode, even made prisoners blush.

The British sitcom series Fawlty Towers, starring John Cleese. I’ve watched some episodes many times, and I always laugh even though the script is familiar. John Cleese is just brilliant. I also love the waiter Manuel in that series.

My sister, Elaine (far left), makes me laugh. We share a very similar sense of humor and can tell what the other person is thinking without having to say it. Just one look can crack us up, leaving the people around us (especially our parents) wondering, What’s so funny?

You can draw a line straight back through hilarious, put-upon curmudgeons, from Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm) to John Cleese (as Basil Fawlty) to W.C. Fields as Harold Bisonette in the classic It's a Gift. No matter what is going on, all I have to do is think of a scene from that movie and I start to lose it.
