Michael Douglas’s mother, Diana Dill, was born on Bermuda and Douglas spent summers roaming the scenic island as a teenager. In 2001, he and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones bought a home in Warwick Parish, located in central south Bermuda, and also became official residents of the island. The family, which includes kids Dylan and Carys, spend much of their time there, where Douglas golfs and Zeta Jones soaks up the sun.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Through all the break-ups, career highs and lows and unrelenting tabloid attention, one thing never changes for Jennifer Aniston: her favorite vacation spot, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She favors the beaches of the sunny city—located at the southern tip of Baja, California—for birthday and holiday celebrations, often bringing along a crew of gal pals including Courtney Cox Arquette, Chelsea Handler and Sheryl Crow.

This idyllic spot on the French Riviera has long been a gathering place for the rich and famous. Superstar couple Jay-Z and Beyonce have vacationed here for years, lolling on their private yacht, jet-skiing or hitting beach hotpot Club 55.


The Sarah Jessica Parker-Matthew Broderick clan often retreat to their second home, a cottage near the quiet village of Kilcar in Ireland’s County Donegal. (Borderick’s parents own a house nearby.) Parker is so fond of the area that she donated a favorite accessory—the iconic Paco Rabanne "Le 69" bag—for a raffle benefiting a Donegal women’s group.

Necker Island

This small, private island in the British Virgin Islands—owned by billionaire Richard Branson—has welcomed celeb royalty over the years; guests have included the late Princess Diana, Oprah Winfrey, and David and Victoria Beckham. In August 2011, Kate Winslet made headlines when she stayed on the island and escaped a fire that destroyed Branson’s mansion.

London-based couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale and their kids, Kingston and Zuma, often decamp to this tropical paradise in the French West Indies for the holidays. There, the family takes boat rides, builds sandcastles and mingles with other star visitors, like Mariah Carey, Derek Jeter and Orlando Bloom.

The Hamptons, Long Island, New York

This fashionable strip of villages and beaches on the east end of Suffolk County plays host to tons of celebs during the summers. Christie Brinkley, Howard Stern and Alec Baldwin have property here, as does Gwyneth Paltrow, who has given people a look inside her chic Hamptons home.

This island at the northern end of the Bay of Naples is known for its healing volcanic mud, thermal hot springs and exotic gardens—as well as its excellent wine and olives! Ischia—nicknamed the “Green Island” for its lush vegetation—has a fan in actress Hilary Swank, who enjoys sunbathing on its beaches.

Telluride, Colorado

Where do Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes go to escape the media madness? Their 400-acre compound in the small ski resort town of Telluride, Colorado. Aside from world class skiing, the area offers horseback riding, hiking, fishing and amazing views of the Rockies. Cruise’s property boasts an in-ground trampoline and a sleep-in teepee—a bonus for daughter, Suri.

This Caribbean island includes 365 beaches, as well as rainforests and water sports such as river-rafting and windsurfing. Stars have flocked to Antigua’s shores since Madonna and Sean Penn honeymooned there in 1985. Today, Oprah Winfrey, Denzel Washington and Giorgio Armani own homes on Antigua.

Lake Como, Italy

Nestled between Northern Italy’s Larian Mountains, Lake Como has attracted the wealthy since the Roman Empire. Many Tinseltown elite have vacationed in the quiet villages that lie on the lake’s perimeter— the most notable, perhaps, is George Clooney.  The star has entertained many costars and famous friends at his lakeside villa— he even hosted John Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s wedding in 2010.


Miami Beach, Florida

The South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach draws thousands of tourists each year (and is home to some of music's finest, Gloria Estefan and Enrique Eglesias are just two stars who call the city home).  Some celebs can be seen frolicking on the shores with locals, while others, like Jennifer Lopez, prefer to stay at luxury hotels.  She recently celebrated her 42nd birthday at the FontaineBleau.


Martha's Vineyard

The sleepy Massachusetts Island was all a tizzy when the POTUS and his family touched down for summer vacation. They’re not the only political families taking advantage of this New England retreat: The Clintons and Kennedys frequent the Vineyard, too.


Maui, Hawaii

Wax your surfboard and make like Cameron Diaz by heading to Hawaii. The actress frequently visits this Western state, often in the company of friends. Hawaii: It's not just for honeymoons.


Aspen, Colorado

The mother-daughter duo are fans of the mining-town-turned-ski-resort. Hawn owns a home, and Hudson married her first husband there.


The French Riviera

Globetrotting couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have purches homes on many continents, but it’s their villa outside Aix-en-Provence that generated the most buzz. It was reported that the couple flew by helicopter from estate to estate (landing in the backyard!) along the Riviera until they found the 32- bedroom Chateau Miraval. Notable neighbors include Bono and Jonny Depp.


Guéthary, France

Madonna touched down in the French village of Guéthary (population: 1600) with her 24 year-old boy toy Brahim Zaibat in August of 2011. "We have three hotels, six small restaurants and no nightclub," a spokesperson for the local tourism office said. "We're known for our three surfing beaches, but besides from that there's nothing. Only reason she would come here for ... is ... is the quiet."


Saint Theresa, Costa Rica

Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen renewed her vows with Patriot's quarterback Tom Brady at her Costa Rican home in 2009. Guests partied at the Milarepa hotel and restaurant, located on a beach just outside Saint Theresa literature calls "the Hawaii of Latin America."  Bündchen returned to the country this past August with her 20 month-old son, Benjamin, in tow.


Paris, France

Newlyweds Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth honeymooned in the City of Light four months after their April 2011 nuptials. Other fans of this French metropole include Uma Thurman, who vacationed their this past spring with her two children.
