“She had a lot of joy,” says Hargitay of her mother, actress Jayne Mansfield (in Los Angeles with newborn Mariska and Mariska’s bodybuilder dad, Mickey Hargitay).
In 1994, Mariska was hired for the Power Rangers movie, right. Then she was fired. “They sent me to Australia to film,” she recalls. “It was Christmas, so I went home.”
“As a parent, you’re always reflecting on how you were raised,” says Hargitay, with her mom and half brother Tony in 1966. “What hurt you? What empowered you?”
