When you’re as amazing an actress as Diane Keaton, it makes perfect sense that you would promote your new book with a video trailer.
And as we’ve come to expect from her, Keaton’s preview of her memoir focusing on her mother, Dorothy Hall, who died in 2008, foreshadows a life story full of humor, warmth and charm. Then Again comes out today. But to tide you over until you get to the bookstore—or download the e-version—here are some snippets from the trailer from Keaton, 65.
Yep, we’ve got some reading to do.
- “When we discovered Salvation Army, it was like a treasure trove. You know, that’s where I got the idea of men’s hats. So I put it on my head, and I go, ‘Uh-huh, all right, now we’re talking.’ ”
- “When I started kissing in the movies, that was about the greatest thing that ever happened. One of my favorite kisses of all time was my kiss with Jack Nicholson in Something’s Gotta Give . . . I just grabbed him, and I just kissed. You don’t really do that to any man in real life, just go, ‘OK, baby, you know, you’re mine.’ ”
- “I don’t know what people will experience, but I hope that they will take a second look at their parents. My mother influenced me by being the inspiration that she was.”
