Two Glasses of Red Wine May Put Brakes on Breast Cancer

Small study finds the wine must be red—white didn't show the same results.

Here’s a story to toast to: Drinking about two glasses of red wine each day may keep breast cancer away.

The Los Angeles Times reports a small study involving premenopausal women, published last week in the Journal of Women’s Health, found that when participants poured themselves eight ounces of red vino on a daily basis, they “experienced hormonal changes that mimic the effects of a drug used to prevent malignant breast tumors from coming back.”

Prefer chardonnay to merlot? Sorry, white wine didn’t offer the same benefits.
