What happens when comedian Joan Rivers moves in with her daughter, Melissa? A whole lot of laughter, drama and talk of plastic surgery. Cameras follow the Rivers women at home and on the road as they try to find balance between their professional and personal relationship. (Melissa is the co-executive producer of E! network’s Fashion Police and Joan is one of that show's four co-hosts.)
In the Season 2 premiere (January 24), Joan decides it’s time for a “10,000 mile tune up” on her neck, while Melissa thinks it’s a risky—and unnecessary—procedure. The younger Rivers tries to stage an intervention, but Joan is quick to quip, “I don’t want to be the one the President pardons on Thanksgiving.”
We won’t spoil the rest of the episode for you, but before you turn your nose up know this: There are poignant moments captured between this mother-daughter duo. The Rivers women are open and honest with their successes and struggles. It’s relatable reality television worth watching.
