Cancer is not an appropriate colored ribbon sitting demurely in the corner. It is the 500-pound gorilla ripping through your life. There is no such thing as a “easy “ cancer. It is a destructive force in your life — both physical and emotional. It is not something you catch, it's not something that you did wrong. It's just the darn Gorilla ripping around. So what do you do ? You get your team of zoo keepers together — family doctor, radiologist, pathologist, general surgeon, oncologist, minister, family, and friends, everyone of these people have a very important role to play in taming this gorilla, but you have to be the one in charge. In the past 14 years, I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer, uterine cancer, and kidney cancer. I am the luckiest person I know because I have the best zoo keepers in town.
