For those keeping a running list of incentives to set the alarm clock for all those early-morning workouts, here’s another one to add: Exercising can reduce your risk of breast cancer.
MyHealthNewsDaily reports a new study looked at more than 3,000 women, half of whom had breast cancer, and found the ones who worked out anywhere from 10 to 19 hours a week had a 30 percent lower chance of developing the disease.
“If you’re postmenopausal and you have not been active, it’s not too late to get started,” lead researcher Lauren McCullough tells the website. “. . . Even if you’re overweight and you’re not seeing the pounds come off, you’ll see a risk reduction.”
Fine, alarm clock. You win.
