Volunteering makes people feel more effective, a new study has found

Is time never on your side? You’re wasting too much of it by not giving it to others.

It sounds kind of weird, but people who volunteer—even in small amounts—feel more effective with their time, according to a new study out of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, LiveScience reports.

“Giving time makes people feel like they have more time,” lead researcher Cassie Mogilner told the website. And it doesn’t take a huge commitment to boost your sense of efficiency. “Carve out 10 to 15 minutes a day to do something for someone else,” Mogilner added.

Heck, certainly we can all make time for that.
