Jodie Foster + Female Mob Boss + Showtime? Yes, Please

"Angie's Body" would follow a "Soprano"-like family, led by a woman

Ever wonder what the mob might be like if Tony Soprano were a woman? Jodie Foster is taking a – er – stab at it.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning actress is set to direct and serve as executive producer of Angie’s Body, a female-centric drama in development for Showtime about a “shrewd and lethal woman who runs a family-based crime syndicate.”

Should the series be picked up, it will be Foster’s second project with the network. She produced 1998’s TV movie The Baby Dance, the Reporter adds. 

C’mon, Showtime. You had us at “Jodie Foster.”
