The book, set in small-town England, is said to be nothing like "Harry Potter"

Hoping J.K. Rowling’s much-anticipated first novel for grown-ups will include some sort of wizardry for women? Sorry, sisters. USA Today reports The Casual Vacancy is completely different from Harry Potter.

Still, it’s doubtful Rowling or her publisher will need any magic to sell mega copies of the book set in Pagford, a small English town, when it debuts in hardcover and digitally on September 27. According to the newspaper, 2 million hardcover copies will be delivered in America alone, with more being released in the U.K., Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

"I expect the world to be ecstatic at the range of her imaginative reach," Michael Pietsch, the author’s American publisher, tells USA Today. He adds that the book, which clocks in at 512 pages, reminded him of Dickens “because of the humanity, the humor, the social concerns, the intensely real characters."

Advance review copies are not being released and there’s much secrecy surrounding the book, but the newspaper does report it “revolves around an election held after a member of the parish council unexpectedly dies.”

Now, who do you think will play the council members in the movie?
