Ann Romney Opts for Oscar at Convention

There’s not much debate that the Republican presidential nominee’s wife looked lovely in red

by Lesley Kennedy • Reporter

Delegates at the Republican National Convention Tuesday night may have been clinging to Ann Romney’s words, but many members of the fashion flock were analyzing her red Oscar de la Renta dress.

The New York Times reports Romney’s silk taffeta knee-length choice—estimated to cost between $2,000 and $2,500—for her speech at the Tampa, Florida, event was deemed a pretty and “safe” selection.

Dresses by de la Renta are popular for first ladies. Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush all wore styles by the designer, according to the newspaper, although Michelle Obama has not.

So did Romney’s choice of dress get your vote? Leave a comment below!
