As the Republicans wrap up their national convention, the Romney-Ryan ticket may want to put even more emphasis on attracting women voters. A new Lifetime Networks poll shows that half of women give President Obama high letter grades of A or B, and 72 percent say they like Michelle Obama.
“Women are pro-incumbent,” Republican Kellyanne Conway, director of the poll along with Celinda Lake, a Democratic pollster, tells USA Today. “Women want the president to succeed.”
As for issues, women are most concerned about the economy, followed by health care, education and government spending, according to the newspaper.
“Women are late-in-the-game deciders,” Conway tells USA Today. “They tend to study longer and check in later. Finally, women see their power as voters. They realize that they hold the fate of the presidential election in their hands.”
