With some of the powerful and popular female-lead TV shows out there now (The Good Wife, New Girl, Revenge), you might think the gender gap is closing when it comes to small-screen gigs. But no.
TV Guide reports that a new study by the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film has found that women held only 26 percent of jobs like writer, creator, producer, director and editor on prime-time shows at ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and CW during the 2011–12 season.
So, please, please, network bosses: more Tina Feys, Shonda Rhimes, Mindy Kalings and Amy Sherman-Palladinos, OK?
