She loves the history of Vegas: "I never thought of it as some-one’s home, just as a playground. But there were ranchers who didn’t want development to happen. That struggle interested me."
Sucking it in: "In Vegas, I’ve got a full-on girdle. It keeps me in check and helps the line of the clothes. So while I personally can’t wait to take it off, I love the look of that time—the clothes, makeup and hair."
Life lesson: "I didn’t realize when I was young and dreamed of being an actress that a bigger dream was to have this beautiful family and to show up every day for my kids. I didn’t know it would be so hard, but more important than anything else."
Moving forward: "I’m interested in playing a woman my age [Moss is 45], whatever that means. There are days when that’s difficult, when I go, “Oh, wow,” seeing myself onscreen, but I just trust that I have a lot to offer that has to do with my experience, my life and who I am as a human being."
Walk this way: "I got into the mind-set this year that I needed to get on the treadmill and walk for one hour every day. It surprised me that just this simple discipline could feel so good for my body and mind. I always thought getting in shape had to be bigger—a boot camp, hard-core thing—and I just don’t want to do that anymore."
