Ever find yourself chanting, “What do we want? CHOICE? When do we want it? NOW!”? You’ve got plenty of sisters rallying around you.
Reuters reports nearly a third of U.S. women surveyed by the Kaiser Family Foundation think there is a “wide-scale effort to limit reproductive services.” The report finds that 42 percent either have donated money in an effort to keep their rights or have tried to get others to believe in a woman’s right to make her own choices with regard to birth control, family planning and abortion.
But fewer than 5 percent of women want to hear about it from Barack Obama or Mitt Romney on the presidential-campaign trail. They want the debates to be on the economy, jobs and health care, according to the news service.
So maybe they prefer this chant: “Not the church, not the state. Women must decide their fate!”
