Growing up, Margaret Batting often wondered what some people would look like if they wore a more colorful suit jacket or did something different with their hair. Margaret graduated from Boston University and went on to become  an advertising  executive at Staples Inc., as well as the company's go-to corporate style guru. Through the years, Margaret observed a strong connection between professional image and career success. With her poise and professionalism, she was living proof. But after 15 years working for Fortune 500 companies, Margaret decided to put her passion to the test.

“I decided I wanted something more, a career that combined my passion for fashion and business and satisfied my desire to inspire others to succeed,” she says. “Rather than a traditional personal stylist, I’m proud to say that today I’m one of the only certified image consultants and personal brand strategists in Rhode Island. People think of me as the “What Not to Wear to Work” specialist.”

Margaret received certifications from the Association of Image Consultants International, London Image Institute, Institute of Image Communications in NY and Reach Communications Consulting. Her dream came true in 2008 when she launched Elevé, a corporate image and personal branding consulting business. Margaret works with large corporations, small business owners and individual professionals and travels the country for CareerBuilder, talking to people about the importance of making a positive first impression.

“I dedicate my days to helping people feel good about themselves and I have to admit, there is nothing better,” Margaret says.

Margaret is the only certified image consultant and personal brand strategist in Rhode Island. She travels the country as the national corporate image consultant for CareerBuilder, is the Corporate Style Expert for and serves on the board (and as the style advisor liaison) for Dress for Success Rhode Island. Margaret’s passion lies in helping professional improve their non-verbal communication. In other words, she makes people look like what they do for a living. Margaret’s philosophy is “personal style is not a luxury, but an investment in your success.” She believes perception is reality and if you don’t know what sets you apart from your competition, you are doing yourself a disservice.

As president and owner of Eleve, Diva Toolbox Contributor, Margaret works with professionals throughout New England to help them align their image with their business brand. Twenty years in corporate management gives Margaret an insider’s edge in personal business style.
