Sheryl Crow Has Benign Brain Tumor

Singer, 50, says she’s not worried about it

Concerned about her frequent memory lapses—including forgetting song lyrics onstage—Sheryl Crow got an MRI last fall and soon discovered she has a brain tumor, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

“I haven’t really talked about it,” the 50-year-old mother of two tells the newspaper. “. . . But it’s benign, so I don’t have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit.”

A rep for Crow tells E! News the singer has a meningioma, a common form of brain tumor.

“Half of us are walking around with [meningioma], but you don’t really know unless you happen to have an MRI,” the rep tells the network. “[Crow] has no symptoms and everything is fine. It was a random mention during the [Vegas] interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone. She is doing great and is healthy and happy.”

Crow, who was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in 2006, tells the Review-Journal she forgot some of the words to her hit Soak Up the Sun during a concert last month.

The newspaper reports she told the crowd, “I’m 50, what can I say? My brain’s gone to [expletive].”

Thankfully, she’s still got her spirit.
