Could Meryl Streep have her eye on playing Hillary Clinton someday?
The Oscar-winning actress certainly heaped praise on the secretary of state during a tribute at the Women in the World summit held in New York over the weekend, the International Business Times reports.
“I was a cheerleader, Hillary was a head of student government,” Streep said. “I was the lead in all three musicals; I’m told that Hillary should never be encouraged to sing,” she joked. She summed up: “I’m an actress, and she is the real deal.”
Streep quoted women from around the globe who said Clinton had had an impact on their lives, according to the online newspaper.
“We spend so much time thinking about Clinton because she represents us, and while we are so concerned about her hair, jackets and lack of sleep, she is out there working, getting things done,” Streep added.
Hey, if Julianne Moore can play Sarah Palin, it’s only fair for us to get a movie with Streep as Clinton.
