The New Rejuvenators: Anti-Aging Skin Creams
What can mere skin creams do? A lot more than the ones our mothers used. Now, even drugstore brands are packed with buzzword ingredients like peptides (said to plump up skin by boosting collagen production). Here are 11 we've tried and liked.
Nuxe Nuxuriance
Brightening Serum ($73)
Made specifically for menopausal women, this serum -- beauty-speak for a lightweight, concentrated formula -- contains botanicals that soothe skin and stimulate cell turnover.
Clinique
Turnaround Concentrate ($37)
As we age, our skin gets less efficient at sloughing off dead cells. This has salicylic acid to help clear them away.
Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions
Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate ($55)
Vitamin C is a first-rate antioxidant that helps restore texture and tone. This self-heating serum delivers a huge dose directly onto skin.
Dr. Jan Adams Woman of Color
Night Replenishing Cream ($15)
Plastic surgeon Jan Adams noticed that his darker-skinned patients were more likely to have sensitive skin, so he developed this gentle exfoliating treatment.
Lancome
High Resolution with Collaser-48 ($60)
Age spots are tough to treat, but this has a mild chemical exfoliator plus a rice peptide said to imitate the collagen-stimulating effects of laser therapy. (Laser treatments are more effective -- but they cost more too.)
Estee Lauder
Resilience Lift Extreme ($70)
Tested on women over 40, this cream contains a peptide designed to help minimize the impact of hormonal changes on skin. Sweet almond extract provides an instant firming sensation.
Givenchy
No Surgetics Plasti Sculpt Lifting Cream ($100)
Contains caffeine to reduce puffiness, green tea to protect against environmental damage, plus beech-bud extract for a tightening effect.
Skin Effects by Dr. Jeffrey Dover
Wrinkle Effects Relaxing Cream ($30)
One of the new over-the-counter creams that are distant cousins of Botox. It contains lycopene, a natural muscle relaxant that smoothes skin for up to a day.
Sally Hershberger Face Place
Face Volumizer ($95)
From the stylist who brought you the $600 haircut, a new line of treatments for over-40 skin. This contains
moisture-attracting humectants plus, of course, peptides.
SK-II
Advanced Signs Treatment ($150)
The key ingredient is a yeast strain discovered at a Japanese sake brewery, where workers have perennially youthful-looking hands.
Olay Regenerist
Target Tone Enhancer ($19)
Contains Pro-Retinol, a lightener for sensitive skin, to diminish blotches.

LADIES! THE MOST IMPORTANT ANTI-AGING TOOL IS SUNBLOCK111 Use every day, everywhere, without fail! I live in the SW desert of Tucson, AZ and the sun is very dangerous around here. It doesn't just wrinkle us, it gives us skin cancer too, plus it's damage is cumulative. I'm 56 and no one, but no one believes it. I routinely have to show ID to prove it! SUNBLOCK ALWAYS

All beauty experts state that the best beauty and skin care product is Retin A or retionids! Its so true that they are the best products to use on your skin. I have been using Retin A for about 12 years now. I get compliments on my skin and the fact that it looks so good for my age all the time. One must be patient and start out using Retin A slowly, then work up to every other night! It is worth getting a RX from your doctor, you will not be disapointed, then use a copper peptide by skinbiology.com and you will be so very pleased with your skin!!
