I never thought I would be a National beauty queen At the age of 60. After I retired from a teaching career, I started modeling, acting and did volunteer work in hospitals. I entered the Ms. New York SR. America Pageant in 2009 and won. It was based on inner beauty, evening gown, talent, interview AND COMMUNITY SERVICE. tHE PAGEANT SEEKS TO DRAW ATTENTION TO THE ACHIEVEMENTS  AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF SENIOR WOMEN. i worked on my lyrical ballet and ended up winning the National title in October of 2009. In addition to dispelling the stereotyped myths of agism, I am using my sash and crown to help others afflicted with breast cancer as I am a 35 year survivor!
