I have been unemployed since May 2008. In 2006 I left a stable job for a "better opportunity" which landed me with a layoff, a lower-paying job, and a second layoff. I've worked two contract positions in the past 13 months and I collect unemployment. It has been very humbling and humiliating. And I look forward to finding a new job and rush hour traffic!

I have been divorced for over 10 years. My ex-husband and I have a teen-age son. I adore his new wife and their 2-year-old son. In fact, I spend so much time at their house that I've been mistaken for the grandma! Nice.
