More about Anne Thompson
I report and analyze behind-the-scenes Hollywood and Indiewood, from glam film festivals like Cannes and rising stars like Rob Pattinson to the annual Oscar race. I launched the daily thompsononhollywood.com blog in March 2007. From January 2005 through February, 2007, I was deputy film editor of The Hollywood Reporter, where I wrote the weekly syndicated column "Risky Business" and started THR's first blog, Riskybizblog. I've served as west coast editor at Premiere, Film Comment and Empire, senior writer at Entertainment Weekly, and columnist at Filmmaker, The London Observer, New York Magazine, The New York Times, The L.A. Weekly and LA Times Syndicate. I've contributed to Vanity Fair, More, The Washington Post, Wired and Popular Mechanics. A graduate of the Dept. of Cinema Studies at NYU, I teach Film Criticism at USC and host Sneak Previews at UCLA Extension.
