I'm a working mom who never has enough time for anything but feels lots of guilt about that. In all of my spare time (ha!), I am working on a book with a good friend, a tragically comic book about the crazy life of a working mom (“WoMo” as we dubbed ourselves… we got tired of typing).

My co-author, Marcie Carson, is the founding Principal and Creative Director of the award-winning graphic design firm IE Design + Communications. and we have known each other for over three decades, which means our friendship has survived some pretty serious life hurdles beyond being working moms: headgear, slam books, slumber parties, idiotic high school boyfriends, UCSB frat parties, the urban singleton years and now it's deadlines and diaper duty. We are both married to great guys (that we occasionally poke fun at in our WoMoments blog) and we have three little dudes between us, ages 2 (mine), 3 and 7 (hers). Did I mention that we both work waaaay too much?

I started my career in journalism, spending eight years editing business newsletters and freelancing for lifestyle and travel magazines. A final gig as the West Coast Reporter for PR Week magazine led me into PR again, and now I spend most of the hours away from my family and friends running the consumer practice for a San Francisco-based PR firm called Allison & Partners.
