I was born and raised in rural North Georgia, which was quite a kick reflecting back on it. Since my childhood, life has taken me on many adventures, finally depositing me in Texas, where I have resided since 1986 with my husband Tom. We have two daughters, Abby and Taylor, and our baby Yorkie, Maggie Mae. Rural life never quite suited me--I was always a little restless, and found a job in metro Atlanta that got me out of the small town and into the city, where I met my husband. After our move to Texas, I worked for a while, then retired to stay home with our girls. Over the years I have reinvented myself many times, doing a little public speaking, and then becoming an amateur bodybuilder in my middle forties. I retired from that just last year after a health scare when I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I still enjoy bodybuilding but decided I was finished competing. I have been a personal trainer for the past 12 years and still enjoy that very much, loving to see people "get" what I already know will change their lives. And--I have finally started writing, which is something I have wanted to do for over 30 years. Yet another reinvention? I have many more stories to tell.
