As you can tell from my Letters From Italy, I'm an Italophile. My maternal grandparents were southern Italian immigrants, so I grew up with all that great food and drama and the yearning to visit there was planted in me early on. Right now, that passion is fueling me and in recent years I've been traveling to Italy often and writing about it for National Public Radio, Traveler's Tales Anthologies, and newspapers and magazines. I love everything about Italy -- the fantastic art, landscapes, people and food are a constant inspiration. When I'm not there, I'm writing about it from the LA home and cooking Italian food for my most appreciative husband of 19 years(!). I've also written for television. I was on staff of "Everybody Loves Raymond" -- probably my best known episode is called "Marie's Meatballs" -- the one where Debra tries to make meatballs like her mother-in-law... it all goes back to those great dinners I had at my grandparents when I was a kid.
