Vagina. There. We said it. Just like the 3,000-plus people who gathered on the Capitol steps in Lansing, Michigan, yesterday in support of state representative Lisa Brown, who was recently silenced by the GOP floor leader for saying the word on the Michigan House floor.

Ensler was standing behind Michigan state representative Barb Byrum, who was kept from speaking on the House floor as well, with regard to a proposal that would not allow men to get vasectomies except to save a man’s life, “mirroring a similar ban Republican lawmakers are seeking to end abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy,” according to the newspaper.

“These women stood up for our rights,” Ensler said at the rally, the News reports. “No one can put the genie back in the bottle. The vaginas are out; they are here to stay.”
