The price of love just keeps getting steeper and steeper.
The New York Daily News reports that Zagat’s Valentine’s Day Dining Survey—a first for the restaurant-guide company—shows New Yorkers plan to fork over $147 on dinner for two this February 14, and that doesn’t include the $88 they’ll spend on gifts.
Best book your reservation now: Zagat finds 44 percent of those surveyed plan to dine out that evening, according to the newspaper. Just 11 percent of couples say they’ll go Dutch on the check.
Hmm . . . in that case, why, yes, we will order that second bottle of wine. And our own dessert, too.
