Here’s a Tip: Wear Red Lipstick

French study finds waitresses with red lips get tipped more often

We knew red was an attention-grabbing color, but who knew swiping on a little crimson lipstick could bump up your earnings, too? Well, it might if you’re a waitress, anyway.

The New York Post reports that a new study out of France finds when a waitress wears red lipstick, she gets tipped by male diners half the time, but waitresses who wear pink, brown or no lipstick at all receive tips only 30 percent of the time.

Maybe restaurant owners should start doling out tubes of Revlon’s Cherries in the Snow along with uniforms, huh?
