Which would weigh you down more: dropping those unwanted pounds or losing your pals?
It seems when it comes to shedding weight, you can’t have your fat-free cake and share it with your friends, too.
The Detroit Free Press reports that when dieters reach their goals, their relationships with those closest to them can change. Body-image expert Christy Greenleaf tells the newspaper this can cause problems especially when food is a major part of socializing.
"There's also the potential of people being jealous," she tells the Free Press. "Losing a lot of weight and keeping it off is really challenging. Especially if the person is getting a lot of attention for it, that might be hard to watch."
So what's a newly skinny person to do? Be up-front and try to swap your usual sinful feasts for slimming salads instead, Greenleaf advises.
And if that fails (and we're guessing it will), bribe your buddies with brownies. No one has to know you used applesauce and whole wheat flour to make them.
