What's next for me.

I have always worked with clothing in several capacities, wardrobe stylist, costume designer, designer, personal shopper, image consultant, retail, blogger and model. I think that covers it. It’s been an amazing life because it’s afford me a life style I enjoy, a career I love and work with some  of the most amazing people on the planet.

Not only have I had a career I love but I have many wonderful friends, family, pets and a social life that rivals the Queen. So to say I am blessed is an understatement. So why am I writing this.

Over the last year I have wondered at my life and of those I surround myself with, how is it that we are the fortunate ones. We don’t live in a war torn country with unspeakable atrocities, we have full stomachs, clean bodies and the freedom to go just about anywhere we want. It staggers me that in this day and age there are over 27 million people living in slavery around the world including the US, that animals are tortured and killed for someone’s pleasure, that children disappear or are forced to live a life of unspeakable horrors, or in factories working to make “things” for the consumer. Why was I picked to live my life as I choose? Some would call it fate; I prefer to think God had his hand in it. So now knowing all of this, how should I choose to live the rest of my life? What should I do with the knowledge I have of how others live?

I have found my calling, fortunately for me, I will be working on animal issues in my state, and it gives me great pleasure to do this. It’s time for me to step up to the plate and do what is right not for myself, but for the thousands of neglected and abused animals that share my planet. The more I learn and have knowledge of what goes on in the food industry, the cosmetic industry and the medical industry and the toll it takes on the animals in our world. I know I must step up and speak for those that cannot.

As I embark on this mission, I want to be humble in my pursuit, gracious with my gifts and to use my voice and talents for others.

What will you do with your good fortune?
