Women Better at Parking Cars

U.K. study finds female drivers are better at technique, finding spots.

So what if we take a little longer to get our car perfectly parked in its space? We actually stay between the lines. Men may snicker, but now there’s proof that women are better at parking cars than guys.

Take your gender fender-bender jokes and shove ’em, fellas.

MSNBC reports a new study by the U.K.’s National Car Parks found overall scores that counted parking accuracy, technique and time spent parking were higher for female drivers. Women did tend to take longer, but they were better at finding a spot and used proper technique in parking more often than men, the network adds.

“Women fared better in many areas of the scoring,” MSNBC quotes the report as stating. “This is despite the fact that when questioned about their beliefs, only one fifth (18 percent) thought they were better parkers than men and less than a third (28 percent) of women believed they were better parkers than their partners.”

Got that boost of car confidence? Great. Now move over. We’re driving.
